Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer Supervisor, the Mining Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is responsible for working with a group of professionals to support the mining operations. This is a maternity leave coverage of 10-12 months.


  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Work in a wide range of mine engineering roles that may involve, drilling and blasting, project execution, productivity analysis and vacation coverage activities


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering
  • Registered, or eligible to register within two years as an Engineer with EGBC
  • Experience in a mining environment; previous experience in open pit, truck and shovel operations is an asset
  • Strong computer skills in mining related software
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
