MINE OPERATIONS HAUL TRUCK DRIVERS

The Red Chris mine has an opportunity within the Mine Operations Department for Haul Truck Drivers. This position is for work at the remote Red Chris mine located 80 km south of Dease Lake, BC in Tahltan traditional territory. The successful applicant will be required to work and stay in camp during their shift rotation. We offer a number of designated flight marshalling points within BC. RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  •  Operating haul trucks (Cat 777, 785 and 793) on 12 hour shifts rotating between day and night shift
  •  Performing tasks outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  •  Performing tasks that involve heavy lifting
  •  Other duties as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certification and/or experience operating Cat 777, 793 and/or 785 haul trucks required
  • Minimum valid Class 5 driver’s license required
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred
  • First Aid certification is an asset
  • Mine Rescue experience is an asset
  • Experience operating other heavy equipment is considered an asset
  • Ability to perform tasks that require strength and stamina in extreme weather conditions
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements
  • A team player that works well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
