Mine Safety Awards

The Mine Safety Awards were established in 1961 by the B.C. Minister of Mines to recognize the safety record of mines in this province. Each year, these awards honour mining operations for their safety accomplishments. The Mine Safety Awards consist of two competitions and seven different awards. All producing mines (i.e., a mine that is permitted for production rather than an exploration site) in B.C. which have accumulated the required number of worker hours and have no fatalities in the competition year are eligible.

To find out more information about the individual awards, rules and application forms, visit the Mine Safety Awards section of the Ministry website.
