Technical Analyst, Engineering

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor Short Range Engineering, the Technical Analyst, Engineering is responsible for onsite customer engagement and support of software solutions that focus on mine productions statistics, operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and improving production performance for the mine engineering and operations groups at Line Creek Operations. The role may require work outside of regular business hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Provide operational support for assigned systems and applications
  • Assist in business case development and proof of concepts for addressing engineering problems
  • Maintain a knowledge base of supported applications which includes solutions to common support incidents, repeated support procedures and frequently asked questions
  • Work with engineering and mine operations team to drive continuous improvement through current and future systems
  • Liaise with relevant parties for support (external vendors, IT staff, global support team) when required
  • Ability to support mission critical systems operating in a 24x7 production environment

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science or Engineering from a recognized post secondary institution or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three years of applied technical expertise in either the process engineering or mining engineering space
  • Strong desire to learn new systems, mine engineering processes and system design
  • Solid analytical and diagnostic skills, and excellent written and verbal skills
  • Good organizational and conceptual skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimum supervision
  • Ability to interact well with other support team members, other Teck Digital Systems (TDS) teams, users and management
