Process Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting to the Plant Maintenance General Supervisor, the Process Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all process area maintenance activities. This position combines the responsibilities for trades, schedule execution, continuous improvement, and staffing to ensure company standards are maintained.

Responsibilities:

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

Direct quality maintenance and repair of plant equipment to maximize availability and reliability

Manage daily and weekly work schedules to ensure work is complete on time and on  budget through usage of Short Interval Controls (SIC)

Assist with the development of the 14-day schedule by providing feedback to the Scheduler

Assist with the development of long range plans by providing feedback to the Planner

Collect and analyze work delay codes to identify challenges to timely completion of scheduled jobs and work with available resources to reduce and/or eliminate identified delays

Maximize employee work performance and productivity

Follow up on current jobs and assist tradespersons in problem solving

Ensure preventative maintenance compliance and repair history is properly documented in Dynamics AX as work is performed to ensure backlog accuracy

Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment and services within budgeted guidelines

Direct the troubleshooting of equipment failures to determine root cause and initiate appropriate remedial action

Determine overtime requirements, consult with the General Supervisor; allocate accordingly

Maintain vacation schedules using Vacation Allotment guidelines

Recommend contractor needs, based on load, to the General Supervisor

Supervise contractors as required

Complete employee work performance evaluations as per Teck Coal Limited’s requirements

Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those candidates possessing a journeyperson ticket, related technical diploma or engineering degree

Demonstrated strengths in organizational, planning and employee relations skills

Previous supervisory experience would be considered an asset

Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite®: Excel, Outlook and Word, training will be provided on Microsoft Dynamics AX
