Materials Coordinator

Reporting to the General Supervisor Maintenance, the Materials Coordinator has a significant role in supporting timely scheduling of the comprehensive maintenance work plans, ensuring the optimum use of maintenance resources and minimized interruption to production. The role will be a 4x4 day shift schedule but may vary depending on operational requirements. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Review and process warranty claims including liaising with Teck Warranty Coordinator and vendors
  • Validate the delivery status of all material scheduled
  • Provide mitigating actions for part delivery issues
  • Assist with material management of cores and parts returns, shipping requirements, and material issues, etc.
  • Order special tools or equipment as required
  • Assist crews with break-in work orders, parts sourcing and availability
  • Contribute appropriately in daily and weekly scheduling meetings
  • Participate in post Preventative Maintenance (PM) and completed Work Order quality reviews
  • Support the collection, tracking, and achievement of the scheduling Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Assist during continuous improvement initiatives
  • Implement and develop best practices
  • Act as back-up scheduler
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of Dynamics AX (CMMS/MRP) usage and report generation, project management tools and common Microsoft tools
  • Working knowledge of maintenance planning and materials management best practices
  • Analytical, logistical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong initiative and team consensus building
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
