Reporting to the Supervisor, Coal Talent Acquisition, the Coordinator, Campus Recruitment, will be responsible for the coordination and execution of campus recruitment initiatives at Teck and across key schools nationwide. The Coordinator, Campus Recruitment works within the Central Recruiting Department and collaborates directly with the operational based Human Resource Teams to support the various hiring initiatives and special projects of the Teck Talent Acquisition Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Ensure that safety values are a core element of the recruitment lifecycle at all times
  • Work in a large, talented, dynamic, outgoing, fun, enthusiastic, and collaborative team of professionals dedicated to Talent Acquisition
  • Lead our nationwide Campus Recruitment initiatives, conducted at post-secondary institutes across Canada
  • Take a proactive approach to all sourcing strategies to maintain healthy volumes of qualified applicants, which include, but are not limited to, coordinating campus career fairs, information sessions, speaking engagements, promotional events, engaging campus partners, job postings and advertising requirements, etc.
  • Take full ownership, plan, and manage the seamless execution of all Campus Recruitments objectives such as acquiring top talent to fill Coop, Internship, and EIT vacancies, managing talent pools and diversity objectives
  • Lead the Campus Recruitment Team and prioritize team goals, set targets, and oversee performance to complete tasks in a time sensitive environment
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and leadership at the operational level to maintain outstanding service levels, manage forecasting tools, manage communications, ensure recruitment best practices, and act as the primary driver throughout the recruiting process
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle at Teck including the final interview and selection of candidates
  • Leverage relationships with representatives of Campus Career centers, student associations, talent pools, societies, professors and other ambassadors on campus to ensure maximum presence and effectiveness
  • Be responsible for creating presentations and public speaking in front of large audiences
  • Manage budget for campus events and overall recruitment spend at key universities
  • Ensure recruitment activities are carried out in compliance with Canadian law
  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), all tracking requirements, and reporting duties as required 
  • Assist with various Hourly and Staff Recruitment objectives as required
  • Travel required (daily or long term)

Qualifications:

  • A passion for Talent Acquisition and related career goals
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business or related program preferred
  • Previous team lead experience in Talent Acquisition or 2 years working as a Senior Recruiter or Campus Recruiter is preferred
  • Ability to work in a high paced, high energy, team based environment where superior interpersonal, social skills, communication skills and professional etiquette are required
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Comprehensive computer skills with experience with web-based Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Ability to operate with very high levels of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
