Reporting to the Condition Monitoring Supervisor, the Asset Condition Lead is responsible for executing condition based monitoring tasks including oil analysis and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on mobile equipment. The Asset Condition Lead will analyze condition monitoring data, create work orders and communicate defects to the various maintenance teams to improve the effectiveness of current processes and increase equipment reliability. This position follows a 4 day on, 4 day off schedule.


  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Work in accordance with applicable government regulations and Teck standards
  • Manage the Oil Analysis program and analyze all results on mobile equipment
  • Manage other various condition monitoring programs including contact and airborne ultrasound, thermography, vibration, and any other inspections
  • Complete NDT on major components for structural integrity including shovel undercarriages, drill masts, and other components as required
  • Manage initiatives to continuously improve the condition monitoring programs at the mine site to be more effective, efficient and long lasting
  • Perform inspections on all mobile equipment and lifting devices in order to ensure safe production
  • Collaborate with trades, participate in the Preventative Maintenance program, and liaise with the asset health supervisors to assist, troubleshoot, and recommend repairs
  • Analyze condition monitoring data, creating reports and work orders according to findings
  • Work closely with the engineering, planning, and execution teams to maximize equipment reliability
  • Increase the efficiency of reporting, alarms, and application of technology onsite using MAINTelligence™
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned


  • Able to work in confined space and at heights
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Experience in a mechanical trade is an asset
  • Lubrication analysis experience and certification (STLE, ICML/MLA level 1)
  • CGSB Level 1 Ultrasonic, Level 2 Magnetic Particle, and Level 2 Liquid Penetrant is an asset
  • Experience/certification in thermography, and/or vibration analysis (CAT Level 1) is an asset
  • Experience working in a Condition Maintenance Monitoring Systems (CMMS) such as Microsoft Dynamics AX, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite® programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) is required
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
