We have an opening in our Vancouver Corporate Office for the following position: Manager, Environment & Permitting

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the CFO, the Manager, Marketing & Logistics plays a key role in the Company’s marketing & logistics functions.  The position is responsible for managing the marketing and logistics functions in regards to all products produced by the Company at its locations in British Columbia and Arizona.  The Company currently produces copper concentrate and molybdenum concentrate. The Company also has two development projects which are expected to produce significant volumes of copper cathode (2021) and ferro-niobium.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform sales function and engage in sales activities.
  • Identify opportunities and trends within existing and new market sectors.
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term sales forecast.
  • Develop brand/reputation strategy and implementation plan.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with metals traders, smelters, ocean freight and rail companies, and joint venture partners.
  • Monitor competitor activity and ensure that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated.
  • Manager tender processes, and negotiate terms and conditions of product sales contracts for long term, annual, and spot contracts.
  • Administer all sales contracts, shipping documentation, bills of lading, etc.   Coordinate with finance department for invoicing and collections.
  • Implement strategies to maximize revenue for the Company’s products, including forward and spot sales of metal.
  • Coordinate sales and transportation activities with mine site operations staff.
  • Liaise with the mine site and with the Company’s customers to ensure on time delivery of on-specification products, and maintain economically efficient product inventory levels.
  • Manage all ocean transportation functions and activities.
  • Identify opportunities and trends with the ocean transportation market and in distribution processes to end use customers of the Company’s products.
  • Implement strategies to minimize product transportation costs.
  • Develop short and long term transportation cost forecasts.
  • Establish and maintain relationships within the transportation industry to enable the effective and low cost transportation of the Company’s products.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for all freight transportation contracts for spot shipments, annual or long term COA’s.
  • Administer all ocean transportation contracts.
  • Administer all logistics contracts and commercial relationships with: port warehouses, port operators, inspectors, assayers, assays umpires, custom agents, and ship agents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience:

  • A university degree, diploma, or professional designation in a relevant field (transportation, logistics, marketing, or supply chain) would be an asset.
  • 10+ years of experience in related field with demonstrated competence in Marketing and Logistics.
  • Previous management experience a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proven initiative and self-motivation.
  • Strong MS Office and computer skills with an emphasis on Excel.
