SENIOR MOBILE MAINTENANCE PLANNER

The Red Chris mine is recruiting a Senior Planner to join our Mobile Maintenance Department. This position is for work at the remote Red Chris mine located 80 km south of Dease Lake, BC, in Tahltan traditional territory. The successful applicant will be required to work and stay in camp during their shift rotation. We offer a number of designated flight marshalling points within BC. RESPONSIBILITIES 

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Build, present and manage the annual required machine component replacement program. 
  • Determine equipment annual expenditure bringing forward the detail for budget purposes. 
  • Manage and present the detail offered by our Tire Sense system. 
  • Be proficient with the use of SAP to a Super User level. 
  • Develop and manage an accurate detailing of machine hours against component replacement. 
  • Work with General Foremen to ensure that the planning / scheduling and change management processes are adhered to. 
  • Lead progress meetings with General Foremen & Supervision, communicating statistics, near term activities, key priorities, areas of concern and potential recovery plans (if applicable) 
  • Set up machine major component replacement plans via work orders, part requisitions & AFE’s 
  • Indoor & outdoor work at all times of the year, frequent visits to differing site locations 
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, schedule, budget and security requirements. 
  • Manage the warranty details and outcomes of any component replacements. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum of seven years in a planning role in a maintenance environment, ideally with a parts/ trades background 
  • Previous experience with Asset Management. 
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to work within tight deadlines and changing priorities 
  • Proficient in the use of SAP, able to build Tasks, Plans. BOMs. 
  • Proven experience in the use of Excel and Word. 
  • Good physical condition and a strong work ethic with a customer service focus 
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent preferred 
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements 
  • A team player that works well with others 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
