Mining Week 2015
Mining Week 2015 has come to a close and we would like to say Thank You for Celebrating with us! There were 21 events across the province this year; from Smithers to Sparwood, Prince George and Kamloops, British Columbians came together in virtually every corner of the province to celebrate our dynamic industry.
In Vancouver we hosted the first ever sold out Opening Gala, where Minister Bennett officially declared BC Mining Week and kicked off the series of events that followed. More than 150 joined us at the Five Sails as we honoured John McManus as the Mining Person of the Year.

We also hosted a Mining Week Career Day that had more than 90 undergraduate and graduate students attend from SFU, UBC, BCIT, VCC and more.
The annual Women in Mining Cocktail Reception was once again a big success with approximately 300 industry women and men coming together to celebrate diversity and women in the industry.
The Teck Celebrity Pie Throw was another huge success, raising more than $1 million for Mining for Miracles in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Click here to see more about this successful event.
And, on May 13th we joined the Vancouver Whitecaps to celebrate Mining Week at BC Place!
