Mining for Miracles Unveils $1.8 million Contribution to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation

Buddy the Miner and Mining for Miracles representatives unveil the 2015 fundriasing total at Miracle Weekend on May 31, 2015

At Miracle Weekend on May 31st at the BC Children’s Hospital, Mining for Miracles announced the results of the organization’s 2015 fundraising efforts.  At the event, the mining community’s longstanding charity in support of the BC Children's Hospital added $1,834,235 to the Miracle Weekend tally.  At the end of the day, more than $18.8 million was raised during the 28th annual Miracle Weekend.

It has been truly inspiring to see the industry come together during a difficult year and support this important cause.  Families in all communities across the province benefit from access to the world-class BC Children’s Hospital, including those in BC’s large and geographically diverse mining industry.  Mining for Miracles has been supporting BC Children’s since 1988 and is proud to have raised more than $25 million over that time.

This year’s campaign is in support of the Mining for Miracles $3 million pledge to support the development of the CAUSES Clinic.  The new CAUSES Clinic will provide diagnostic DNA testing to support the accurate and efficient diagnosis of rare genetic diseases in children who would otherwise require numerous tests or might not be diagnosed at all.
