Awards

Mining Association of British Columbia gives two awards each year:

Mining Person of the Year

The Mining Person of the Year Award is presented at the Opening Reception for BC Mining Week in May of every year. This award is an initiative of the Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) and publicly recognizes an outstanding individual(s) who have shown leadership in advancing and promoting the mining industry from, or within, British Columbia.

Mining & Sustainability Award

B.C. is one of the world’s most important mining regions. Mining makes significant contributions to our province's economy, and the B.C. mining community is leading the way in protecting the environment and developing our natural resources in a sustainable manner.

The annual Mining and Sustainability Award is an opportunity to publicly recognize the diverse companies, communities, First Nations, non-governmental organizations, government agencies and individuals committed to advancing and promoting sustainable development in the B.C. mining sector.

This award is a joint initiative of the Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

MABC also supports the Provincial Mine Rescue Competition & Mine Safety Awards.
